The Birth
I was just a kid from Detroit that loved to smoke weed. I had no idea of the medicinal value, I was just a fan of the way it made me feel. I remember when I got the phone call to be interviewed for a “bud tender” position in a medical marijuana dispensary. I had just lost my job as a die setter and I was online applying for anything that had an opening. When they called, I hadn’t realized that I applied to work in a marijuana dispensary. I thought I was applying for some sort of pharmacy. The very first question they asked me during the phone call was “Do you believe Marijuana is medicinal”? I replied “Hell yea”. A few days later I went in for an interview and got the job. That is when I began to research about Marijuana. I learned about all the different strains and their medicinal value. I learned about how marijuana reduces seizures, its great for pain, it helps with ailments like MS, depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc. I also began meeting medical Marijuana patients that would give me their testimony on how Marijuana helped them more than the prescription drugs their Doctors were prescribing them. I have met Cancer patients that never indulged in Marijuana until they were diagnosed with Cancer. Knowing about the harsh effects of chemo and radiation, they turned to medical Marijuana. I also learned about growing Marijuana and the difference between organic and non-organic flower. To make a very long story a little less long, I studied a lot about weed and learned more than I ever imagined about it. I went on to manage a few different dispensaries until 2017. That is when the dispensary I was managing was closed due to a zoning violation, which was later over turned. So when the dispensary closed I was once again out of a job. Eventually, after being broker than I ever been, I came up with an idea to go into the medical Marijuana edible business. I knew for a fact I wanted to do edibles but I was not sure on what kind of edibles. Cookies, brownies, and candies had already saturated the market and I wanted to be different. So one cool fall afternoon, my team and I decided to join America’s FAVORITE food and THE WORLDS GREATEST PLANT together in holy matrimony, and Pink Panties Pizza was born.
